Sigmund is always away on business, so Maria agrees to trade her career as an artist for being a mother. At the beginning of their life together, there was love and harmony, but as time passes, Maria is increasingly burdened by domestic worries and her anger becomes uncontrollable. When Sigmund asks for a divorce, Maria, forced to face unpleasant truths, begins a difficult journey of self-discovery. Triumphant at the Karlovy Vary Film Festival and winner of five awards, this debut divorce drama is a humane portrait of a woman in crisis, while exposing society's false beliefs about romance and relationships.
