About the film

„It's over now“, he says. Together with Marie Nyreröd, he looks back on his life and on his long career in films, the theatre and TV in three documentaries:„Bergman and the Cinema“ – Ingmar Bergman pays one final visit to „Filmstaden“ („Film City“), where many of his films were made. He shows unique behind-the-scenes material from his private archives.„Bergmana and the Theatre“ – Ingmar Bergman bade farewell to cinema with „Fanny and Alexander“, in 1982. He did so without regret. „It was far harder giving up theatre,“ he says now.„Bergman and Fårö island“, - the last part could also have been called „Bergman and Life“. In his home at the seashore, he talks about the childhood that shaped him. He shows where he shot his film „Persona“. He tells, too, of love and death - and lists his worst demons!
