About the film

In a remote Swedish community, widowed beekeeper Olof lives alone with his teenage daughter Lise. They carry their grief in different ways: Lise longs to escape, while Olof buries his pain deep within. When he falls ill, Olof must confront the seriousness of his condition and the need to tell his daughter the truth. The Quiet Beekeeper opened the Göteborg Film Festival and won the Audience Dragon Award for Best Nordic Film. Set to the gentle, unbroken hum of bees, it is a tender portrait of fragile everyday life and the quiet, enduring light of human connection.
