Eleven-year-old Christophe struggles to live up to his strict father’s expectations on the family farm. One day, the boy suddenly begins to lose his balance and falls on the tractor, at school, and even at the dinner table. A doctor discovers the solution: in order to stay upright, Christophe must wear an iron corset. Unable to help his parents on the farm, he begins to notice other opportunities that life has to offer and discovers his true talent. What initially seems like a physical obstacle becomes the beginning of a new chapter in his life that is filled with music, friendship, first experiences of love, and even some dubious adventures. The film offers a sensitive portrayal of the transition from childhood to adolescence, exploring family relationships, changes in the body, and the ability to hear and nurture one’s own voice amid the expectations of those around us.
