Two brothers and their sister endlessly build and dismantle a knight fashioned from ancient armor, shooting arrows at their creation. As the seasons change, the children’s lives unfold alongside this unusual target, while the wounded knight comes to embody a quiet melancholy in the Icelandic landscape. In Joan of Arc, Icelandic director Hlynur Pálmason expands on one of the central scenes from his earlier film A White, White Day, with his own children taking the lead roles.
