About the film

"Gregor Zamza wakes up and realises that he has turned into a giant..." - in the film, Franz Kafka, who is working on The Metamorphosis, is still undecided about what his protagonist should become. Moreover, the writing, which takes place on Christmas Eve, is constantly interrupted by shopkeepers knocking at the door, women or the author's own unexplained hallucinations. Franz Kafka's It's a Wonderful Life which won the 1994 Oscar for Best Short Film, with British humour, confuses Franz Kafka with the director of the Christmas classic Frank Capra.
