It’s tempting to assume that life in a small village in the agricultural hinterland of Iceland is uneventful. But, as this patchwork of interconnected stories shows, everyone, however reclusive, has a tale to tell. Summerlight… and Then Comes the Night follows a plethora of quirky characters who, while living far apart, are at their core very similar with all their dreams and fears. Based on the eponymous novel by the famous Icelandic author Jón Kalman Stefánsson, it tells the story of relationships, sorrows and joys of ordinary Icelanders.
