A provincial school is waiting for official delegation from the Ministry. They’re about to bring a new school bell. This is not what the school lacks though. The fact that it is two pupils short of the allowed minimum is a much bigger issue. Waiting for the delegation, the principal of the school makes his best to mask the lack and avoid the unavoidable closure.

Karolis Kaupinis
Born in 1987, Vilnius, Lithuania, Karolis Kaupinis graduated from the Institute of International Relations and Political Science of Vilnius University in 2012. He’s been working as a journalist in Lithuanian National Television and developing the idea of The Noisemaker ever since. The Noisemaker won European Short Pitch award in 2013 and is his first short fiction film. The film was selected for the competition programme at Locarno International Film Festival.
