Istanbul, present day. Fresh from Ankara, Musa arrives in the Galata section of Istanbul to take up his first job as a muezzin, leading the calls to prayer at a small mosque. Musa falls in love with his neighbour, a Catholic nurse named Clara. Things become more extraordinary when Musa meets the bibliophile Yakup, who turns out to be connected with Clara. As the lives of these three people begin to intersect, surprises start to emerge.“My film is not anti-religious. In Turkey and in the whole world religion is the big issue. And I am a little bit against it, because everybody takes religion to seriously”, – says Mahmut Fazil Coşkun.
