About the film

Famous pianist Charlotte Ingrid Bergman visits her daughter Liv Ullmann, the wife of the pastor of the rural community, for the first time after a seven-year break. They try to be polite to each other, but the emotional gap between them is just too big. Eva still feels heartbroken that her mother took too little care of her as a child, that she paid full attention to her career and her other daughter, Helena (Lena Nyman), who was attached to a wheelchair and only communicated with her voice. And it is extremely difficult for Charlotte to lift the message that Helena lives with Eva and come to terms with the recent loss of her husband.
