1944s. The Finnish-Russian war is coming to an end. Martha is pregnant, her fiancée Arne is on the front. She lives on the husband’s family farm along with war widow Helmi and young mother Hika. But the women must leave the farm and flee to the west - the Russian army is approaching. While traveling, they cross Vyborg, where Arne's company is established. There is a dramatic battle here ...
This story was filmed where it actually took place - in Vyborg. For quite some time it was a hard thing to imagine.

Lauri Törhönen
Režisierius Lauri Törhönen gimė Helsinkyje 1947 metais. Baigė režisūrą Helsinkio meno ir dizaino universitete 1976- aisiais. Nuo tada jis sukūrė ne vieną filmą televizijai ir didžiajam ekranui. Kaip ir daugelis kino menininkų, karjerą pradėjo dirbdamas asistentu (režisieriaus Warreno Beatty „Raudonieji“ („Reds“, 1981) ir Michaelio Aptedo „Gorkio parkas“ („Gorky park“, 1983). Nuo 1996 iki 2006 metų dirbo dekanu Kino, televizijos ir gamybos dizaino fakultete Helsinkio meno ir dizaino universitete.
